Flight from Home Port to Cairo

On arrival at Cairo International Airport you will be met by our representatives and transferred to your hotel. In the evening pick up from your hotel to the Pyramids area for the Sound & Light Show. Experience a magnificent presentation of Egyptian history narrated by the Sphinx in a supersonic stereo Sound and Laser Light show that will take you back 6000 years of civilization.

One night at Cairo Hotel.

This morning transfer by coach to Alexandria the former capital of the Roman Empire.

Arrive and visit the National Museum and the Roman Catacomb that is one of Alexandria’s memorable monuments. Dinner is at your hotel.

Your tour today included a visit to Pom Payes’s Pillar the once-impressive structure rivaled the Soma and the Caesareum in magnificence.

After lunch, continue to visit the Roman Amphitheatre theatre and the new Bibliotheca of Alexandria, where at you visit varies museums and galleries  which contains sampling of Roman and Islamic artefacts.

This morning, we drive from Alexandria to El Alamein. Visit the sights where three major battles occurred in WW2 around El Alamein between July and November 1942, and were the turning point of the war in North Africa. The Australian 9th Division, led by Lieutenant General Leslie Morshead, played a key role in two of these battles.

Stop for lunch on the way back to. The rest of the evening is at leisure.

Morning to visit the first and only remaining Seven Wonder of the Ancient World. The great Pyramids of Giza and the Majestic Sphinx. Visit a full-sized dismantled boat at the Solar Boat Museum which is located few meters from the Great Pyramid Cheops. After lunch continue to Sakkara and visit the site where the first known Pyramid in history is, The Step Pyramid of King Zoser. Visit Imhotep Museum which is a special place dedicated only to the many discoveries from the area of Sakkara and Memphis the ancient capital of Egyptian Kingdom. (B,L)

 

Morning, pick up from your hotel to visit the magnificent Egyptian Museum, home to the greatest collection of Egyptian antiques in the world, among which is the famous treasures of the King Tut Ankh Amen. After lunch continue to visit Salah el Din’s Citadel for a breathtaking view across the city to the Pyramids. Next is the famous Alabaster Mosque of Mohammed Ali. Afternoon ends with the world’s famous Khan El Khalili bazaar with plenty of opportunity to pick up some last minute bargains. (B,L)

Transfer to Cairo airport for flight to Luxor. Arrive and transfer to your hotel.

This morning travel north of Luxor for a full day Denderah and Abydos. Denderah was the principal city of the sixth province of Upper Egypt in ancient times, and culture centre of Goddess Hath or. Visit the magnificent temple of Seti I‘s at Abydos, must have been the most beautiful and richest among the temples that Ramses II built. It is unquestionable that the artists must have come from this earlier generation. (B,L)

Transfer from your hotel to your Nile Cruise. Embarkation before lunch and afternoon visit Luxor Temple dedicated to the great god Amun-Re, his wife Mut and their son Khonsu, the moon god whom together represent the Theban Triad.  Visit the Temple of Karnak a spectacular complex of sanctuaries, pylons and Obelisks dedicated to the Thebian Gods which was built and enlarged over a thirteen hundred year period.

Four nights Nile Cruise.

Today cross to the west Bank or Thebes and visit several Pharaonic tombs in the Valley of the Kings and some mortuary temples from the middle kingdom. Visit El Dier El Baheri and Temple of Queen Hatshepsut the magnificent structure was built in a steep half-circle of cliffs on the west bank of the Nile River . Photographic stop at the remains of the Mortuary Temple of Amenhotep III and two gigantic statues called the Colossi of Memnon. Transfer back to your Nile Cruise and lunch on board.

Sail to Esna and cross the water lock then continue to Edfu.

Visit the temple of Edfu dedicated to Horus, the falcon headed god. It is the best preserved ancient temple in Egypt and the second largest after Karnak.

Sail to Kom Ombo and visit The Temple of Kom Ombo which is known as the shared ground temple by two gods , the crocodile-headed Sobek god of fertility and Haroeris or the ancient falcon-headed Horus. Lunch on board and sail to Aswan.

Morning visit to the High Dam of Aswan the water project which was built to generate electricity and provide water for agriculture. Continue visit to The Temple of Philae, dedicated to Isis the Egyptian Goddess of Love. View the unfinished Obelisk of Queen Hatshepsut on the way back to your Nile Cruise. Lunch on board.

In the afternoon experience the traditional sailing boat called Felucca made of wood that is used especially for rivers cruises. Sail around the Kitchener Island and view the Agha Khan Mausoleum and Botanic Gardens.

Morning disembarkation and transfer to Aswan the airport for a flight to Abu Simbel.  Arrive and visit two temples at Abu Simbel among the most magnificent monuments in the world but their removal and reconstruction was an historic event itself. Transfer back to Abu Simbel Airport and board our flight to Aswan. Arrive and transfer to your hotel.Tonight dinner is at your hotel.
